Scoutbook

To sign up for Scoutbook, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Create a my.Scouting.org Account

Before using Scoutbook, you must have a my.Scouting.org account, which serves as the gateway to all Scouting online tools, including Scoutbook. Parents, guardians, adult leaders, and optionally Scouts need their own accounts. To create one:

  • Go to my.scouting.org.
  • Click “Create Account” and enter your personal information (name, date of birth, email, and contact info).
  • The system will check for existing Scouting records. Follow prompts to claim or recover your record if necessary.
  • Once your account is verified and you are listed on your unit roster, Scoutbook access is granted automatically.

Step 2: Sign Up for Scoutbook

  • Visit www.scoutbook.com.
  • Click the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.
  • Enter your name, email address, and password, then click “Sign Up” to create your account
  • Log in using your email and password.

Step 3: Connect to Your Scout

  • If your Scout is already registered, Scoutbook may automatically create their profile.
  • If not connected, manually link your Scout:
    • Go to your Scout’s profile in Scoutbook.
    • Scroll to the bottom and select “INVITE”.
    • Enter your Scout’s email address; Scoutbook will send a password to your Scout.
    • Log in with the Scout’s email and password to complete the connection.
  • Parents can manage and view advancement, update profiles, and add photos to help unit leaders identify Scouts.

Step 4: Access and Use Scoutbook

  • Once accounts are set up, you can track advancement, report completed requirements, and communicate with your unit.
  • Adult leaders use their my.Scouting.org credentials to log in, while Scouts use the email and password sent via the invitation.
  • The Scouting app (available on iOS and Android) allows parents and Scouts to access Scoutbook features on mobile devices
If you encounter issues, contact your unit leaders or the BSA Customer Care team for assistance.
